Early Life and Childhood

Wrestling was a central part of Marcus’s childhood, largely influenced by his family. He began wrestling at a very young age, following his older brother, Joey Blaze (an NCAA finalist for Purdue).

His father, Joe Blaze III, recalls that Marcus was an active child who fell in love with the sport immediately after Joey brought home a school flyer for a local program. He is an active member of DECA, which is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, and management. He remains undefeated in collegiate duels and was recently named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week (January 2026).

Professional Career

Marcus Blaze began his collegiate career in the 2025–26 season, competing at 133 lbs. He holds a perfect 10–0 record, leading the Nittany Lions in dual points. In his first 10 matches, he achieved a 100% bonus win rate, including several technical falls and pins over opponents.

His debut featured an 18–3 technical fall victory. He also won the Black Knight Invitational title early in the season. He received a spot on the USA Senior National Team in 2024 and 2025. Moreover, he placed 3rd at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials defeating multiple NCAA champions.

In June 2025, he defeated three-time All-American Brock Hardy to receive his position as a top-three wrestler in the U.S. at 65 kg.
