Cookie has even written a book about the struggles she and Magic had to face during the time her husband was diagnosed with HIV. The book is called Believing in Magic, published in the year 2016 and it has sold many copies and is one of the best sellers.

When Magic Johnson contracted HIV, he once openly accepted that he has, had unprotected sex with many women during his career and after getting infected, he regretted it a lot, but Cookie never left his side and became a strong support for him.
