Deontay Wilder was born on 22nd of October in 1985, in Tuscaloosa which is in Alabama city, United States. His father Gary Wilder was a preacher in the church in their locality. Professional Career
2005-2011: In the year 2005, Deontay was introduced to boxing at the age of 20 years. He started his training at the Skyy Boxing Gym under his coach Jay Deas and mastered the sport to a level that he excelled through the US Championships in the heavy weight division and also won the National Golden Gloves Award in the year 2007. Wilder won the US trials for Beijing Olympics and qualified for the Olympic Games in the year 2008 where he secured the bronze medallion the heavyweight division.
He turned to professional boxing and made his debut on 15th of November where he defeated Ethan Cox by knocking him out in the second round itself, after this fight he began fighting very frequently to an extent that he sometimes fought on a monthly basis for the coming years and won all his fights by either knocking the opponents out or by technical knockouts and thus creating an undefeated record against lesser-known fighters.
