Early Life and Childhood

Dean was raised in Joliet, Illinois where he began his wrestling under the guidance of his father. Like other wrestlers, he was involved in football but then shifted towards wrestling.  He spent his childhood training at local clubs and traveling towards finding the toughest rivals.

He grew up in a wrestling household. Since childhood days, he was a huge fan of Oklahoma State Cowboys and ambitious about joining them in future.

Education and the Beginning of Sports Career

He completed his education through 3 institutions. He won the NWCA Scholar All American and Academic All-Big Ten during 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons regarding high edge academic presence.

He collected Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award (2021)and maintained a 3.8 GPA. He was a member of the National Honor Society and currently pursuing a degree in Public Health (Exercise and Health) from Oklahoma State University.

He began wrestling just to improve his football skills and towards a better tackling technique. However, he got attached to the individual pattern and challenges of wrestling which is why he never went for football  again.

Professional Career

Professionally, he won RAF Middleweight title during the Real American Freestyle Championship by defeating Evan Wick. During the Cruiser weight championship, he involved in as a substitute against Olympic medalist Kyle Dake where he lost through technical fall.

He represented Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. He gained training under David Taylor who was already an Olympic Gold Medalist. He defeated European Under 23 Bronze Medalist Umar Mavlaev during the Ziolkowski Memorial (Poland, 2025).

He won against Simon Ruiz through 5-3 score and reached finals by wining World Team Trials in the year 2025.

Achievements/ Awards/ Medals

Muhamet Malo Ranking Series 2026 (25 February and 1 March 2026)

He became the finalist where he wrestled against Mohammad Nokhodi from Iran who was a multi-time World medalist. Dean lost in this match by a 10-0 score through technical superiority. Mohammad used a series of gut-wrenching moves early in the bout to end the match quickly. Dean received a Silver Medal in the tournament.

Zagreb Open Ranking Series 2026 (February 4–8, 2026)

Recently, Hamiti won gold at 79 kg weight category during the Zagreb Open in February (2026). He has been positioned for a rematch at the Final X in June 2026 for the sake of reserving spot at World Championship.

He was the NCAA Division I National Champion in the year 2025 and 3 times competed in the NCAA All-American and became champion in 2025. Dean won Big Ten Freshman of the Year (2022) and The Hammer Award (2025).

He won the Midlands Championship at 165 lbs in the year 2023. He emerged as the U.S. Open Silver Medalist in the year 2025 and 3 times IHSA State Champion during the High School competitions.

Married Life and Family

Dean is not married as per records until now. His father acted as one of the spectator.  His siblings- Jake is also a team mate of Dean at Oklahoma and Luke who is already worked as a wrestler.  He enacted as a member of the Cross Path Movement where he is considered as a role model regarding the faith.
