Early Life and Childhood
Claudia faced setback when she was a gymnast and her career in wrestling started after the incident when she buckled her elbow mistakenly which ended her gymnast career.
She began attending her younger brother Griffin Heeney’s wrestling practices with their parents, Dan and Karrie. At Griffin’s wrestling club, she noticed a single girl competing. Seeing another girl in the arena made her realize that wrestling can work as a path for her.

She is a grade A student. She has publicly credited wrestling for her academic success, stating that the self-discipline required helped her to focus in the classroom. Claudia, along with her teammate Morgan Turner, made history for the Lockport “Porters” by becoming the first female individual state champions in the school’s history.
As a freshman, she had to get wrestle up into much heavier weight categories (as high as 235 lbs) because many teams lacked opponents in her actual weight category. These early losses created scope to improve.
Professional Career
In amateur wrestling, professional status means senior-level international competition or specific professional leagues (like the recently launched Women’s Professional Wrestling league). At 18 years old, Heeney is currently focused on the higher place in college wrestling.
While she has not publicly signed a formal Letter of Intent, her status as a top-10 national wrestler makes her a target to get enrolled in NCAA Division I programs.

Reached the state finals as a freshman at 125 lbs, finishing with a 42-1 record. During the 2025 USMC Junior Nationals (Fargo), she was placed 5th in the nation at 135 lbs, earning All-American honors in one of the world’s largest wrestling tournaments.
During the USA Girls Midwest National Duels (2024), she went undefeated (4-0) to take 1st place in the 132 lb category. Also, ranked for securing 135 lb Junior title at 2025 Illinois Freestyle State Championship.
She is a 2 times IHSA State Champion for the year 2024 and 2025 and 2 times recipient of award like Daily Southtown Girls Wrestler of the Year along with entitled as The Herald-News Girls Wrestler of the Year.
