He was raised up in Ohio and born in Georgia. His father treated him and made her to initiate wrestling. He was not very good from starting however his father taught him and corrected the mistakes so that David could improve.

He did not started wrestling seriously until 5th grade. He played basketball under the guidance of his older brother Isaac and was a skilled dribbler.

Education and the Beginning of Sports Career

David Carr graduated in 2018. He then attended school at Woodford County High School as a 8th grader. He maintained a 3.2 high school GPA and received the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in the year 2018.

He earned Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies and earned a Master’s degree while receiving honors such as four-time NWCA Scholar All-American (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024).

He was named the 2024 Big 12 Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year and 4 times Academic All-Big 12. When the family relocated to Ohio, a state which was popular for wrestling, David shifted his focus and started career in wrestling.

Professional Career

David defeated the reigning World Champion Youshinosuke Aoyagi of Japan by 4-1 in Croatia. During the 2025 World Championship, he was placed 5th after 2-2 criteria loss against Zaurbek Sidakov in the Bronze Medal Match.

He is the inaugural Welterweight Champion for Real American Freestyle (RAF). He has a career record of 120-5. He is trained at the Cyclone Regional Training Center.
