Early Life and Childhood

From a young age, Carroll was playing in Indiana’s youth wrestling clubs. He grew up in a large family with 5 siblings: John, Jill, Ben, Cassidy and Katie. He quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy. During his sophomore year, he faced hurdle when transfer rules prevented him from competing in post season.

Despite these setbacks and unfavorable conditions, he trained himself hard to compete at the national level. His childhood days were deeply connected in a large, supportive family along with a strong wrestling tradition.

Education and the Beginning of Sports Career

Carroll was a student from Jimtown High School in his initial days and then he was transferred to Elkhart High School. He was always regarded as top class wrestler, who set a record of 22-0. According to the sources, he recalled his school being a SMALL FARM SCHOOL. He graduated in 2023 with the most outstanding image of a prep-athlete in the country.

From the beginning, he was involved in youth folk-style and freestyle wrestling. At several youth levels, he received the honour of earning early success such as Indiana State Tournaments and Freestyle Opens.

Professional Career

Professionally, he became the Fargo Junior Freestyle National Champion in 2021. Carroll also gained the opportunity to join Under 20 World Team. Until the end of the year 2025, he is considered an International freestyle wrestler.

He had qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at 97 kg defeating his opponent at the Last Chance Qualifier. He had a high rank when he won over 2 times NCAA All-American Anthony Cassioppi. He represented the nation at Under 20 World Championships in Bulgaria.

He had finished No. 10 at Under 20 World Championships in Jordan. Just after his transfer to Iowa State, he was ranked 3rd in the 92 kg category for Under-23 Nationals. Carroll won the Broncho pen through spending his redshirt year in Stillwater in the Oklahoma Stats for the year 2023-24.

Internationally, he received excellence through becoming a quarter finalist at 97 kg during the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. As the 6th seed, he became champion at the U.S. Open 2023. He was ranked 10th during Under 20 World Championships for the same year of 2023.

In Bulgaria, he represented for Team U.S.A. in Greco-Roman at 97 kg. High School Records are comprised of Fargo Nationals Champion in 2021, 2 times Champion for the year 2020 & 2021 acquiring preseason titles. During the Indiana State Championship, he grew as the State Champion and Wrestler of the Year.

Carroll was also the Winner of the 2015 Indiana Youth Folkstyle State Tournament and 2016 HYWAY State Championships.
