Usain St. Leo Bolt was born on 21st of August in the year 1986 in Sherwood Content, it is a small town located in Trelawny Parish in Jamaica. Usain’s father Wellesley Bolt had a grocery shop in the town and his mother Jennifer Bolt was a housewife but also used help at the shop. They had three children including Usain and lived a quiet and simple life.

When Usain was young, he was a very energetic kid and loved playing sports, he was very passionate about cricket and wished to become a cricketer someday like his idols Sachin Tendulkar and Waqar Younis. He was a very talented fast bowler and after seeing his running style, his coach recommended him to try track.

Usain completed his high school from William Knibb Memorial High School in Martha Brae, Trelawny, where he used to practice his fast bowling and eventually started running track seriously.
