Mike Tyson was born on 30th of June in 1966, in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York City, USA, his biological father Purcell Tyson was never present in Mike’s life and his mother Lorna Mae (Smith) Tyson raised him and his siblings alone as a hardworking single mother.

When she remarried Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Jimmy became a father figure in Mike’s life. At the age of sixteen, Mike lost his mother in 1982, which led Mike to live with his mentor Cus D’Amato, Mike has always been a trouble kid, getting arrested for crimes like robbery and fighting.

At the age of 13, Mike has already got caught more than 30 times by the police. Mike has attended the juvenile centre, where he met Bobby Stewart, who recommended Mike to start sports after seeing his fighting style.

1985-1987: After making his professional debut at the age of 19 years old, where he defeated Hector Mercedes and after that in the same year he won 15 matches. In the year 1986, he fought 12 matches and won in all of them and after defeating Trevor Berbick, he gained the WBC Heavyweight Title and became the youngest person at the mere age of 20 to do so. In 1987, he gained other Heavyweight titles after fighting and defeating James “Bonecrusher” Smith and Tony Tucker.

1988-1991: In the year 1988, Mike fought three matches and won all three matches against Larry Holmes, Tony Tubbs and Michael Spinks and all three times he defended his title from them. In the next year he again defended his title two times against Frank Bruno and Carl Williams in 1989 and in the year 1990, Mike lost his career’s first match against James Douglas in Tokyo, Japan. After making a comeback in the year 1991, he fought two matches and won both of them against Henry Tillman and Donovan Ruddock.

1992-1997: In the year 1992, he was sent to prison after Indiana jury found him guilty of rape, he sentenced to 10 years in prison but was released after three years and in the year 1995, he fought a match and defeated Peter McNeeley. In the year 1996, he fought three matches but lost in one match held in November, he got defeated by Evander Holyfield and after that in the next year 1997, he was disqualified because of biting the ear of his opponent Evander Holyfield.
