Hank Aaron was born on February 5. 1934, Hank’s father Herbert Aaron Sr. was a shipyard worker and part time farmer and his mother Estella Aaron was a domestic worker and a homemaker.
Hank had seven siblings and his brother Tommie Aaron was also a Major League player. Together, they were credited with 768 career home runs as the one of the most made by a pair of siblings.
Growing up in Toulmin Ville, a poor neighbourhood. Aaron’s family couldn’t afford baseball gear. He would improvise by using sticks to knock offs and by shaping his bats and balls from the streets. His idol was the great Jackie Robinson.

Hank attended Central High School but he also played baseball with Mobile Black Bears. Despite being left-handed and hitting cross handed, soon made a name for himself as a power hitter.
In 1949, he tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers at the age of 15 but was not selected. He later graduated from Josphine Allen Institute.
Due to financial issues Hank was not able to go to college instead he started playing for the Prichard Athletics and Mobile Black Bears in the Negro Leagues and semi-professional leagues.
In 1952, He signed with the Boston Braves and entered into Minor League Baseball and after getting a rookie of the year and MVP, Aaron made his MLB debut in 1954 with the Milwaukee Braves.
